Privacy Policy

GridWatch ("the App") is developed by CyberLab Automation. This policy explains how the App handles your data.

Data We Collect

GridWatch collects minimal data to provide its core functionality:

• Location data -- used only for map positioning and proximity to community reports. We do not track or store your location history on our servers.
• Community reports -- when you submit a report, the report type, location, optional photo, and nickname are stored in Firebase Firestore. Reports auto-expire after 2-48 hours depending on type.
• Chat messages -- geo chat messages, likes, and replies are stored in Firebase Firestore and visible to other users within the selected range.
• Anonymous authentication -- the App uses Firebase Anonymous Auth. No email, phone number, or personal identifiers are collected.

Data We Do Not Collect

• Names, email addresses, or phone numbers
• Location history or movement tracking
• Contacts, call logs, or SMS
• Browsing history
• Unique device identifiers (beyond anonymous Firebase UID)

Local-Only Features

The following features process data entirely on your device and never transmit it to our servers:

• BLE tracker detection -- Bluetooth scans for AirTags, Tile, SmartTag, and Chipolo devices remain on-device.
• Wi-Fi scanner -- nearby network information stays local.
• Police scanner -- audio streams are fetched directly from public Broadcastify feeds; we do not proxy or log your listening activity.
• SOS flashlight -- fully on-device.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage) -- Firebase Privacy Policy
• Google AdMob (advertising) -- Google Privacy Policy
• OpenTrafficCamMap (traffic camera database) -- open data, no user data transmitted

Data Retention

• Community reports: auto-expire after 2-48 hours
• Chat messages: retained until manually deleted or system cleanup
• Photos uploaded with reports: stored in Firebase Storage, deleted when the report expires
• Anonymous auth tokens: managed by Firebase, no personal data attached

Children's Privacy

GridWatch is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
